Deb Dougherty
Dressage Instructor

Over the past two decades Deb has won numerous USDF All Breeds awards and year end high percentage awards from the American Morgan Horse Association and the American Warmblood Society. In 1994, she was the first person to be awarded a USDF Gold Medal on her Morgan horse Pattie, and is subsequently mentioned in the Morgan Dressage Association website.

She has a background in music as an instrumentalist and vocalist, and is therefore able to combine her musical experience with her dressage performance experience to create musical freestyles. In 1992 she and Pattie won the Northwest Cup Musical Freestyle Championships and in 1993 placed 5th in the USDF Musical freestyle Awards. In both 2004 and 2006 she won the AWS Freestyle Horse of the Year on Whispered Dreams, as well as finishing 6th in the USDF Musical Freestyle Awards.

She is passionate about teaching and even more so about helping each student and their horse achieve harmony and teamwork in their communication and performance. She always strives to be positive and encouraging in order to foster confidence and a “can do” attitude in her students. She offers lessons twice a week in Ellensburg as well as in Selah.
