Jillian Santi
Western Dressage Instructor

Jillian has been riding for over twenty-five years. She competed in walk/trot classes at the age of four, was a member of Pony Club for four years, participated in schooling and Class A Hunter/Jumper shows, Evented, then turned her total attention to Dressage eleven years ago. She received her Gold Medal and Gold Bar in 2011 with her Haflinger, a non-traditional Dressage horse, that she trained up the levels from just basic walk, trot, canter work to Grand Prix. She began working on Western Dressage over a year ago starting with attending the first Train the Trainers clinic in Colorado, receiving a certificate of completion for that clinic.

She has participated in clinics with Jane Savoie, Debbie McDonald, David Blake (a student of Steffen Peters), and four years of two to four lessons per month with Jeremy Steinberg. She also has had additional private lessons with Cliff Swanson, one of the founders of the WDAA and a USEF judge. She holds a Level II ARIA certificate for Dressage and Hunt Seat.

Jillian enjoys supporting youth as well as teaching. She has been judging 4-H shows for the last two years and has given many lessons to 4-Hr’s in both Dressage and Western Dressage on Whidbey Island. She has taught the Adult Clinic of the Northeastern Chapter of the Oregon Dressage Society and judged their Dressage schooling show, which included Western Dressage. She gives monthly clinics throughout the summer in both Dressage and Western dressage in LaGrande, OR. She also gives Western Dressage lessons on a regular basis in Ellensburg, WA at Kathy Grasher’s arena.
